Nelson Dos Reis

Originally from Cape Verde, Nelson dos Reis was born in Ottignies Louvain-La-Neuve in 1978. He then spent fifteen years in the Parisian suburbs, where he took art classes. In 2002, he returned to Belgium where he held his first exhibitions. He then joined the Farm Prod collective, with whom he works solo or in a group on various projects (canvases, frescoes, live painting, etc.) in different places and countries. Nelson dos Reis’s paintings are often very colourful and make use of flat colour. He draws inspiration from everyday subjects and iconic figures from black culture, transposing them into a whimsical, colourful universe somewhere between abstract and figurative.
