This fresco was created in May 2019 by artist Fred Lebbe to mark the 450^th anniversary of the death of painter Pieter Bruegel. Ten fresco offerings have been created, grouped together along a route known as the “Parcours Bruegel” in Marolles. Each artist was given the task of reinterpreting a work by the Flemish master.

This fresco was inspired by “The Fall of the Rebel Angels, Pieter Brueghel the Elder, 1562, oil on wood, 117 x 162 cm, Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium, Brussels, Belgium”.

Fred Lebbe on his work:  “I have chosen a sequence for this work, in which the pictorial universe speaks to me, my challenge will be to interpret it as faithfully as possible with the current technique of aerosol painting. A way to pay tribute to Bruegel’s technical prowess.”
