This mural was created by artist Ledi Kostandini as part of the 2022 Balkan Trafik festival. Wink is referring to the European Union’s cooperation with countries outside the Union, such as Albania. The work is intended as a window onto Tirana, which has been awarded European Youth Capital 2022. In May, a mural by the same artist will be unveiled in Tirana, at the initiative of the EU.

Inspired by the paintings of René Magritte, the artist describes the work as follows: “A cloudless sky with floating eyes, brings little Dadaist fragments from the city I live in. They deliver a sentiment of optimism and light in the heart of Europe. Eyes blink and wink to the local spectators as a playful sign of affection and solidarity. The blue sky refers to the colour of the European flag” .
