Pierre Bolide is one of the nine winners of the call for projects “9 visions”. This call for projects, launched in 2018, brought together nine artists and focused on a specific topic. The 30-metre hoarding in the rue du Marché aux poulets, partly surrounding the future administrative centre of the City of Brussels, are the canvas on which the artists were able to express themselves on the theme of “BXL moves for you, with you and thanks to you”. The aim is to show that Brussels is a creative city, evolving and on the move: a city that is modernising.

Perched on an unknown planet, observing a star on the horizon, the Atomium rises with its spheres floating in the void, peaceful and yet absurd. Made of chrome-plated metal and sitting in a barren, black and white universe, it reflects the colours of the city, like a virtual door to a parallel world, a window from another dimension into our own Brussels. A symbol of the Brussels of yesteryear. In this case, it is the ambassador of the Brussels of tomorrow. This allegory, which weaves a link between a distant future and the living, breathing Brussels of today, places the city in a creative and resolutely modern dynamic. The clean, sober design is an invitation to contemplation and poetic beauty.
