El Tipo

Eltipo is a Belgian graphic designer and artist. He grew up in his father’s car body repair shop, where he experimented with and refined his custom paintwork skills. In 2009, he obtained a master’s degree in graphic design from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. His work is very colourful, with large, pop-style shapes. Since 2016, eltipo has been a freelance designer, artist and craftsman with a strong affection for letters, typography and illustration. Fuelled by the influences of adrenaline sports, tattoo culture and graffiti, he creates works of art across a variety of media. The combination of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary techniques has become the hallmark of his work. In his work, his dual status as a graphic designer and artist is evident: typographic elements invariably slip in here and there.
