Fouad Hachmi, aka HMI, is a Brussels-based artist with a wide range of skills: painter, graffiti artist, caricaturist, etc. He was one of the pioneers of Belgian graffiti, joining the CNN199 Hip Hop crew very early on in his artistic career. The artist’s work has been exported beyond Belgium’s borders: he has taken part in the Délit2Fuite exhibition (Belgium), the Festa2H Festival (Senegal), the Matissa Festival (Morocco) and the Theater aan Zee Festival (Belgium). He has also created numerous frescoes, notably in the IAM studio (France) and at Espace Magh (Belgium). 2013 marked a turning point in his career, when he exhibited his character L’Araignée au Plafond (The Spider on the Ceiling) at the White&Art gallery, representing his new discipline: press caricature.
