Guillaume Desmarets

Guillaume Desmarets was born in Brussels in 1980. Having spent his teenage years in a Paris suburb, he returned to the low countries and settled permanently in Brussels after studying art in Saint-Luc, Tournai.
As a member of the “Farm Prod” collective, Guillaume, a.k.a “Guitar”, has been painting in various forms for more than 15 years.
His influences come from both urban art and contemporary painting. His paintings combine various graphic motifs based around portraits or scenes expressing his personal emotions, or other moments of life. Whether abstract or figurative, there are recurring elements in his paintings including tribal motifs, iconographic themes, the imprints of life. A blend of modern aesthetics and primitive art.
