For 10 years now, Selor has been decorating the walls of his home town – Bordeaux. A sensitive artist, his works are influenced by his encounters and travels. “Mimil” is the result of a meeting with people with autism who have little autonomy. This condition taught the artist that there were people using different ways of communicating. “Mimil” is a concept which each individual is free to interpret in their own way; it is used to express messages to society. “Mimil” should be seen as the physical manifestation of a thought, a point of view, a way of communicating. His art does is not limited to this imaginary character, Selor also does contemporary rock painting and acrylic painting. He creates a colourful universe inhabited by fictional characters with childlike features and ironic little sentences. The artist shows us his vision of today’s society through his adorable “Mimil”.
