Plug&Play Soundwalks

#1 Urban art, feminism and public space

The PARCOURS Street Art and Kimia Studios have joined forces to create a feminist soundwalk in three languages (FR/NL/ENG). This new cultural object is a 90-minute documentary and artistic creation.

Departure: Porte de Hal

Arrival: Place Sainte-Catherine

Duration: 95 minutes

Description:  During the 4.2 km walk, visitors can (re)discover a selection of works from the PARCOURS Street Art through music, interviews, soundscapes, poetry and voice-overs. This new tool gives visibility to women* in public space (street artists and graffiti artists, architects and urban planners, historians, poets and musicians) and celebrates a heritage that is too often neglected. *Women: we refer to anyone who identifies with this term and affirm that each person is free to define their own gender identity.

Put on your headphones and let yourself be guided! If you get lost, use one of the “checkpoints” to get back on track :

TW: Some of the murals and speakers explicitly address issues of serious gender-based violence, rape and femicide. We recommend that you proceed with caution when listening to this tour.

We encourage you to use this creation in your classes and programs, with your friends and colleagues, your guests and neighbors, to rethink your city. We will be happy to support you in this process.
