The Brussels-based artist Lucile Van Laecken has a passion for illustration and depicts the Laeken landscape in her fresco entitled “Un Voyage d’Antan”. Featuring the Green Alley, the appearance of Belgium’s first railway section and the birth of the labour movement, Lucile Van Laecken invites us into Laeken’s past. As a key element́ of this story, the locomotive intervenes as a conductive element of a timeline and invites the spectator to travel in a chronological reading from the 18th to the 19th century.
