Choose the artwork as a tribute to Annie Cordy
The City of Brussels is having a new work of art made in memory of singer Annie Cordy. Residents of the Brussels Capital Region are therefore invited to choose from 3 proposals. You can vote until midnight on Monday 7 February 2022.
In 2018, on the occasion of Annie Cordy’s 90th birthday, a street art wall was created on a building in the park near the old Laeken train station. At the same time, the City of Brussels decided to name this park after the singer.
Why a new work?
When planning the future redevelopment of this park, it turned out that the building on which this fresco is located is unstable and contains asbestos. That building can thus not be preserved. However, the City of Brussels is aware of the attachment of the inhabitants of Brussels to this exceptional Belgian personality. That is why it has a new artwork made.
How to vote?
The City is launching a participatory process. This way, as many people as possible can participate in the selection of the new artwork in memory of the deceased singer. You can vote here till Monday 7 February 2022:
