The NOH Design Collective and the Bravvo non-profit organisation invited various neighbourhood associations bringing together residents of all ages and backgrounds to convey their vision of Neder-Over-Heembeek. These exchanges took place in a number of creative workshops led by facilitators. The content of the workshops focused on the perception that the residents have of their neighbourhood as well as their everyday experiences. This vision was based on four themes: portrait, location, object and slogan. The goal of the project was to capture, through art, the identity and soul of Neder-Over-Heembeek as well as promote interaction between its inhabitants. The ideas were interpreted by the renowned Farm Prod collective. The mural takes the form of a comic bubble, emphasising the participatory aspect. The letters NOH (which stand for “Neder-Over-Heembeek”) occupy the centre of the work of art. On the outer part of the mural, trees, a river and faces represent the positive aspects of this lush and friendly municipality.
