This mural was created by artist helen b. It pays tribute to Belgian adventurer Hélène Dutrieu (1877-1961), a Belgian cyclist, motorcyclist, race car driver and aviator. This triptych shows different stages in the career of this famous “human arrow.” It illustrates her first passion for cycling, her motorcycle acrobatics and her experience as an airplane pilot. She was the first woman in the world to pilot a plane with a passenger. To create this work, helen b painted using various collages.
The mural testifies to the bold character of Hélène Dutrieu, described as the most fearless woman of her time.
