Durable was designed and created by the Himed y Reyben duo. The work depicts a person clandestinely fighting against nuclear energy. The image contains a number of symbols for us to decipher: a petrol can in the colours of the Belgian flag, a blue shape that appears to be a wind turbine in the form of a nuclear symbol, a gas mask on the character’s hoodie… The whole thing forms a mise en abyme of activism through art, discreet but impactful, on this enclosed wall.
