Web history

The steering committee, composed of the Bravvo non-profit organisation (Antenne Quartier Nord Community Centre and the Centre de Jeunes Locomotive Youth Centre), the Centre Pôle Nord (City of Brussels), the De Harmonie non-profit organisation, the Bredeschool Klavertje Vier, the Joseph Swinnen non-profit organisation and a local resident active in the neighbourhood, came up with the idea for this project. The steering committee invited residents of all ages and backgrounds living in the Northern Quarter housing estates to express their views on the positive and negative aspects of their surroundings. Afterwards, creative and discussion workshops were organised and led by artists from Une ville en couleur. This base was used to create the magnificent fresco at 150 Chaussée d’Anvers. This unifying project has helped to promote collaboration on a neighbourhood-wide scale and has highlighted development opportunities within the population, associations and schools of the Northern Quarter. It’s a wonderful project that gives residents a voice, enabling them to take greater ownership of their neighbourhood and pass on their history.
