Historique
The steering committee, made up of the Bravvo non-profit association (Antenne Quartier Nord and the Centre de Jeunes Locomotive), the Centre Pôle Nord (City of Brussels), the De Harmonie non-profit association, the Bredeschool Klavertje Vier, the Joseph Swinnen non-profit association and an active resident in the district, have devised this project. The steering committee invited all residents, of all ages and backgrounds, from the North Quarter, to express themselves on the positive and negative aspects of their environment. Meeting and creative workshops were then organised and brought to life by the artists from Une ville en couleur. This was the basis for the magnificent fresco situated at 150 Chaussée d’Anvers. This unifying project has made it possible to valorise collaboration within the neighbourhood, and has highlighted the opportunities for development within the population, associations and schools of the North Quarter. It is a great project that gives a voice to local residents, allows them to better appropriate their neighbourhood and transmit their history.
