MEDIANERAS is a duo formed by Vanesa Galdeano (architect) and Anali Chanquia (art graduate), two female street artists from Rosario (Argentina). They currently live in Barcelona (Spain). MEDIANERAS means “side walls” in Spanish. Unlike walls, which are solely responsible for separating spaces, side walls are those that are shared between neighbours. They are interested in this concept because they believe that public art, as well as beautifying cities, promotes the idea of a shared place – by all individuals. They want to change the way spaces are usually perceived, their intention is to change the urban landscape of the street.
