This mural was created by artist Patrick Croes aka Jellyfish. It is on display in a location dedicated to carers and patients, in order to make the place more welcoming, creative and poetic for all those who work with them on a daily basis. Open field is a work that, as its name suggests, offers a pathway to the outside world. On the wall, dynamic, colourful shapes punctuate the steps of passers-by. On the ceiling, the motif is perforated with several white cut-outs to reveal the “background” of the work. For the artist, this work is directly inspired by the architecture of the building.
This mural was created as part of the Brugmann University Hospital’s Centenary celebrations.
